This year’s  volunteer Fair Committee was formed at a public meeting April 4, and is already working together to make this year’s event truly a memorable one. It’s not every year that we get to celebrate a quarter century annual community gathering!

Some of last year’s volunteer Kohala Country Fair Committee members are participating in this year’s event as mentors, and are looking to the community for new volunteers to fill out the following committees:

  • Information Booth
  • Advertising and Publicity
  • Posters and Programs
  • Signs
  • Tents
  • Tables and Chairs
  • Vendor Booths
  • Keiki Activities
  • Transportation
  • Displays
  • Exhibits
  • Judged Events
  • Drinking Water Supply
  • Parking
  • Recycling and Construction

Many hands working together have made each of our Fairs a special day when the entire community and folks from many other parts of the Big Island come out to eat, shop, and visit with family and friends.

Vendor booths, day-long entertainment, exhibits, keiki activities, animals, and education promise plenty of fun for everyone.

The Fair will continue last year’s goals of sustainability, giving back to the land, and growing our own food. Last year’s fair achieved 70% waste reduction, thanks to the fairgoers and the Zero Waste philosophy, which will also need committed volunteers to help by taking a 2 to 3 hour shift on the day.

Please contact Ed Pollock 896-9893 to help with our Zero Waste goal. For other information, call 889-5324 or email info@kohalacountryfair.org.
